My son has attended JR Miller’s Martial Arts School for the past five years. I am so grateful that he joined and became part of the JR Miller family. He has learned so much and grown in ways that will forever help him in life. In 4th grade after having a hard time focusing and paying attention in school, a close friend recommended trying out a class as their son and daughter loved it. After that trail class, my son was hooked and has attended ever since. He will test for his black belt next weekend. All of the instructors go above and beyond to teach their students with much patience and skill. Master Alan and Master Miller are wonderful owners who have dedicated their lives to teaching Martial Arts to their students. Ms. Diane, Ms. Kim, and Ms. Jenna work hard with all of the students, and show kindness and support while teaching the skills needed to learn for each belt level. We are so thankful for all that JR Miller Martial Arts has done for our son and his future.

J.R. Miller Martial Arts has helped our daughters physically and mentally grow. They have learned so much from their masters and instructors while attending the school. We like that they teach respect and it is amazing how much our daughters have learned. Everyone is always friendly at the Dojang. The instructors are patient and they encourage each student to do their best. Not only do the classes teach self defense, they also teach self-confidence.
Proud Grand Mother 11/11/23
Our Grandson, has learned about discipline, being respectful to others, self-confidence and teamwork. he has also enjoyed the leadership skills, helping others, and being emphatic. The instructors are caring, very supportive, and they connect and communicate well to the kids and adults. He enjoys and looks forward going to the DoJang at J R Miller. (where the action begins). He has made many friends and is part of the J R Miller team. J R Miller has played a big part in his young life, helping develop him into the good, kind, respectful person that he is. There isthe physical part of this too. Sebastian is more coordinated. J R Miller – Character building: As his Grandparents raising him, we have definitely noticed what he has learned from attending Taekwondo; meaning how he deals with his teachers, fellow students, elders, neighbors and friends.

Jrmma has done so many great things to help the growth and development of our 10 yr old son. They have helped teach him to have a voice and speak up. They have taught him how to treat others with respect and decency no matter what age they are. He has learned to teach and encourage others whether they are a beginner or advanced belt. He has expanded his ability to memorize things through repetition and practice. He has improved on his speaking in front of others and peers. His balance and physical abilities have improved immensely. These are the things that set jrmma apart from others and they also teach self defense.

When my daughter was in kindergarten, a man tried to steal her from a store when she was standing right next to me. The incident was so brazen and unexpected that it rattled both of us. My daughter worried constantly about it happening again, and insisted that she needed to be able to protect herself. Everyday she’d ask me if I found a place for her to do karate. I took about two months and looked for a karate studio, but I couldn’t seem to find a good fit....that is until I found JR Miller Martial Arts. I actually found JR Miller Martial Arts by accident when I got lost on my way home from a different dojang. I decided to stop and check it out. I just walked in to get additional information, and they welcomed her to try a class to see if she was even interested. We stopped on a great day because it was sparring day. There was two high school girls (sisters) sparring against adult male opponents, and it was truly inspiring. My daughter said mommy I want to be able to do that. The instructors and other students are very supportive and encouraging. I’ve seen my daughter grow from a scared little girl into a confident young lady who’s not afraid to stand up to a bully because she KNOWS that she can defend herself.

My older son was the first to join J.R. Miller Martial Arts at age 7, way back in 2012. After seeing how much he was learning physically and mentally in the caring yet challenging atmosphere - and how much he was enjoying it - I decided to join, too. Then, when my younger son saw how much we were learning physically and mentally in the caring yet challenging atmosphere - and how much we were enjoying it - he joined three! Now we are all testing for black belts together (1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree)! This is such a testament to this school, its teachers, and its students. It is rewarding to not only see your children grow and learn in ability, determination, focus, and confidence at the direction of such caring, talented, and outstanding masters, but to also get to experience that for yourself. We highly recommend J.R. Miller Martial Arts!

J.R. Miller Martial Arts has helped both my daughters physically and mentally grow. They have learned so much from their masters in the three years they have attended the school. I like that they teach respect and it is amazing how much my daughters have learned. Everyone is always friendly at the Dojang. The instructors are patient and they encourage each student to do their best. Not only do the classes teach self-defense, they also teach self-confidence.

My son began his martial arts journey at JR Miller three and a half years ago. He was interested in Taekwondo, but was anxious about jumping into a class knowing nothing. The masters welcomed him with warmth and enthusiasm, providing a few private classes which helped him build the confidence to join right in. As pleased as I have been with the quality of instruction given to the students, what has impressed me the most is the investment the masters make into each and every student. The tenets of Taekwondo are emphasized not only in the dojang, but in every area of the student’s life. Students are encouraged to be strong students, earning recognition inside the dojang for quality schoolwork. Vital life skills like perseverance, self control, and respect are taught to every student and the environment of the dojang promotes the development of these characteristics. The dojang is a place of intergenerational community, with students of all ages learning from each other. It’s not uncommon to see a younger student working with a much older student, showing them proper technique and form. There is an atmosphere of respect and camaraderie that creates a place where students feel accepted and challenged. My son’s Taekwondo journey has been such a formative part of his last few years, and I am grateful for the Masters investment in my son and all the students at JR Miller.

There are many things my family has loved about J.R. Miller Martial Arts. Over our 3+ years in the dojang, we have seen many students walk through those doors - all abilities, ages, colors and backgrounds. Master Miller and Master Alan have created a family environment where all students are encouraged and supported. We've seen countless cases where a student may be struggling with a particular challenge and the entire dojang cheers them on until they can do it. We've seen shy children and adults thrive from this encouragement and develop confidence, strength and spirit. It is a very special place.
My children are 18 months apart. My daughter started and my son joined about three months later. They have very different strengths and interests, and taekwondo became an activity they could do together - they worked closely at J.R. Miller's dojang and at home. It was fun to watch them work together. This year they tested for their black belts together. It's something they will always share. My family will be forever grateful to the many incredible teachers at J.R. Miller Martial Arts.
Jeff
Our three children are widely spread out in age and interests, so we had no idea when they started studying taekwondo at J. R. Miller Martial Arts that we’d found an activity they would all relate to, excel at, and bond over for the next three years. The masters at J. R. Miller Martial Arts emphasize individual achievement and honor differences in learning needs. They maintain a safe nurturing environment, recognize students’ strengths, and teach through example. During our children’s time at the dojang, in addition to traditional taekwondo self-defense skills, they have learned leadership skills, practiced respect, and have been infused with the confidence and self-discipline required to meet their goals. J. R. Miller Martial Arts has trustworthy adults leading classes who genuinely care about their students’ well-being and success. Tuition is competitively priced, and the facility is clean. We are so thankful our children have had the benefit of learning and growing at J. R. Miller Martial Arts, and we know they will carry the lessons they have learned studying taekwondo throughout their lives.
Angie
We knew our youngest needed a sport where he could push himself to be better and stronger on his own speed and terms. J.R. Miller Martial Arts was that place. The instructors are firm but fair and highly knowledgeable about their sport. They encourage the students to achieve their best with positivity and enthusiasm. The atmosphere is warm, friendly and each class offered a little something different so that the kids stay connected. I would highly this dojo for anyone interested in learning more about Taekwondo and making themselves stronger, focused and more confident!

My older son was the first in our family to join J.R. Miller Martial Arts as a student in 2012. Fast-forward to 2019, and our family includes one red belt, one soon-to-be black belt, and one second-degree black belt! We were first drawn to the school because of Master Jill Miller’s and Master Alan Miller’s way with kids. They are kind, yet firm and have cultivated an environment where students feel challenged and encouraged. At J.R. Miller Martial Arts, students learn effective self-defense, respect, discipline, focus, how to work well with others, and the rewards of hard work, all while having a little fun, too. There is also a wonderful camaraderie among the families and the students of the school. We can’t recommend J.R. Miller Martial Arts enough.
Diane
J. R. Miller Martial Arts is a phenomenal martial arts school! I cannot say enough about the instructors. They truly put their hearts and souls into growing every student in mind, body, and spirit. My 12 year old daughter started martial arts 3 years ago. It has been amazing to watch her grow in self-confidence, focus, perseverance, and leadership skills. I too am a student, have grown in so many ways, and have made life long friends. J. R. Miller Martial Arts is a second family for us and so many others!
Ben
When I was twelve years old, my dad, took me to a Judo class at my request. The instructor began by explaining that Judo was not something to be used on the playground, and then, as the class began, corrected pretty much everything I did (and yes, this was my first class). My motivation was to defend myself from playground jerks at my elementary school (which was not allowed), and the instructor was quick to tell me I had no aptitude for this. I didn’t take a second class.
Today, 37 years later, I have a black belt in Taekwondo and plenty of enjoyable experiences on my road to get there. I’m better at telling stories about what went wrong (see above) than clearly explaining what went right. But I can wholeheartedly recommend J. R. Miller Martial Arts. Thank you, Jill Ryder Miller and Alan Miller, for all of your instruction and support. It has been a wonderful experience—and, ironically, I’ve especially enjoyed Judo—and I look forward to continuing my journey.
Julia
I would like to extend my gratitude to JR MILLER for their diligent and fun training in Taekwondo. Tristan and Katelin have learned many valuable lessons so far, and they are only just begining. I admire the growth I have seen in both of them as they continue to "empty their cups" and aquire more knowledge of the discipline. They hunger and thirst for more. I am so very glad my kids became involved in martial arts, and I am even more glad that we chose to join the JR Miller family
Jenn
Our son has a developmental disability, and finding activities that he enjoys can be difficult. Then, we gave JR Miller Martial Arts a try. Soon, he was hooked, and TKD has become an enormous source of pride for him. The instructors are kind, but firm; understanding, but emphasize discipline; patient, but challenging- all traits that they also teach students. Taekwondo and JRMMA have become an important part of our son's life, stengthening him phsyically, mentally and behaviorally. Thank you so much!

Our experience with JRMMA has been excellent. My daughter has been attending for many years and has had nothing but positive experiences. The school does a great job in teaching children the importance of respect and self confidence. My daughter has become both physically and mentally stronger because of her participation in TKD. The Millers are wonderful people who very obviously care about each of their students. I would highly recommend JRMMA to anyone looking for an activity for their children!
Tristan.
This place ain't bad. Is good. I'm a student here, also. Is good. I have learned taekwondo, judo, and eventually hapkido techniques by taking classes here. Is good. Estoy muy bien. I enjoy taking these classes so I can develop myself as a martial artist. Is good. Very testify. Such review. 9.5/10 would come here again. So opinion. Wow.
Jared B:
I have attended J. R. Miller Martial Arts for approximately four years now, and can’t say enough good things about the Millers. As I have climbed through the lower belt ranks, they have made me feel like a part of their family and helped me out when I felt like I wasn’t learning enough. I have gained knowledge, confidence, patience, and strength while training at JRMMA and can’t believe how far I’ve come. It’s been a long trip, and I’m not going to lie, a hard one, but it has been a fun one. These folks that I’ve gotten to know have satisfied my thirst for knowledge time and time again, and I can’t wait to learn more after attaining my Black-Belt.

I am 14 and have been taking Taekwondo for three years. I have had many opportunities to advance both physically and mentally. Master Miller and Master Alan have been amazing teachers in that they expect the best of you and respect, and they give you the same in return. My favorite thing about Taekwondo at JR Miller are the Judo days where get to do a lot of Judo throws and break falls. I would recommend JR Miller Martial Arts to anyone who is looking to doing martial arts. It is a lot of fun and you l

Our son, Jonathan, has been taking Taekwondo at JR Miller Martial Arts for approximately three years, and is approaching his black belt test. In that time, Jonathan has grown in knowledge, strength, and fitness. Master Miller and Master Alan have been excellent instructors – very encouraging, yet requiring respect, effort, and proper technique. It has been gratifying to watch Jonathan progress through his ranks and to see him learn increasingly difficult skills.

(cont) We are most grateful for the leadership opportunities that JR Miller Martial Arts has afforded Jon. He assists in several lower belt classes each week, allowing him to cement his own skills and to practice leadership in a safe environment. We would highly recommend JR Miller Martial Arts to any prospective student.

Our son started taking classes at JR Miller Martial Arts in November 2011. He joined this dojang at a friend’s suggestion and now, three years later, he is ready to earn his black belt. The Masters are so kind and encouraging. They teach their students confidence, respect, perseverance, and self-control all with positive reinforcement and lots of fun mixed in. The flexible scheduling makes fitting TKD classes into our busy life that much easier. JRMMA is the best martial arts school around!

I wrote a testimonial several years ago, when my son joined J.R. Miller Martial Arts. Now, not only is he still a student, but since the summer of 2012, I have been, too! We have fun, work hard, and learn so much. I can't say enough good things about this Do Jang and its instructors. They are very experienced and great with children and adults alike. The environment is welcoming and encouraging, from the instructors to other students to even the families on the sidelines. I highly recommend JRMMA.

J.R. Miller Martial Arts is an amazing school if you are looking to learn Taekwondo. Master Miller and Master Alan are very supportive and are always willing to answer questions or provide assistance. They also make sure that they are teaching everyone at their own pace. We are taught to try our best and to never say, “I can’t”. I have been doing Taekwondo for three years and I have loved every second of my training journey. Knowing Taekwondo gives you confidence and teaches you valuable life skills.

I have been taking Taekwondo at JRMMA for over 3 years. I joined when I was 7 years old. My sister also goes to this school, too. They have family classes and many other class times available all year round for busy schedules. Master Miller and Master Alan are the nicest and most patient trainers that I've met. They help when you are struggling by actually showing you the moves step-by-step. Everyone is respectful to each other. They help each other with their forms to get better.
Ella A.
I have made many friends at this school. After each practice, we get to play group games with our friends for working hard in class. I have been a student at J.R. Miller Martial Arts for over five years. One important thing that I have learned from this experience is that I can do anything I set my mind to with hard work. As I continued to earn new belts, the material that I was learning became harder. Sometimes, I felt that I would never get it down. However, Master Miller and Master Alan watched me when I was practicing and helped me when I was confused. I have learned many skills like leadership, respect, and responsibility.
Luke V.
I enjoy going to class because I get to work with so many different groups of people. There are students that are younger, the same age, and older than me and we all show respect to each other. If you are looking for a place to get active, learn self-defense, meet new friends, and have a lot of fun then you should consider J.R. Miller Martial Arts.
Evan T.
Since I started Taekwondo, I have become a better student, role model and person. It has helped me become a better listener and a better communicator. I owe it all to Master Miller, Master Alan and the students at the dojang. It takes sacrifice and discipline but it is totally worth it!
